Brand Identity
Designed a brand new identity system for an Italian market place in Baltimore that is over 100 years old. Founded in 1914, DiPasquales's is still a family-owned business. The new identity is modernized but recognizes its Italian heritage and unique position as one of the most popular and historical marketplaces within the local community.
Research from previous versions of the logos, family photos, and historic colors and typefaces traditionally found in Italy helped generate a new wordmark for the marketplace. Accompanying the updated logotype is the year of inception with surrounding wheat spikes signifying DiPasquale's fresh baked goods. These elements can be used or not. The restaurant owner's catchphrase, "It's an Italian thing," is included to emphasize their Italian heritage; and gets used across a wide range of applications.
